WATER- Women's Association for Training, Empowerment and Resettlement

“Women need to be empowered through the strongest tool – education. They don’t need to be subservient to anyone, but at the same time, men must change their mindset towards women. If they are more respectful towards them, then things will change at the grassroots level. It will happen slowly, but everyone has to move together.” – Madhuri Dixit

WATER- Women’s Association for Training, Empowerment and Resettlement was established in the year 2002, and the organization has ever since been making efforts for the betterment and progress of women in all spheres of her life. We have a strong network of dedicated volunteers striving to provide all kinds of assistance and organise campaigns, seminars and workshops to take forward the cause. For us, women’s equality is not a concept but long-cherished dream that needs to become true.

The organisation has its headquarters in Delhi.

Helping Women Across Spheres to Realise Their Potential

WATER

Raising self-esteem and self-confidence of women is the core objective. Elimination of discrimination in terms of equal opportunity or treatment is what we work towards.

We have been supporting women and promoting equality and fairness in wages, in behaviour, and with opportunities and have spent over a decade putting women’s rights at the forefront of our mission.

Equality, opportunity and empowerment for all women is our motto. In a country which is as young as ours, challenges of equal opportunity arise at every stage. We endeavour to promote and support the cause of equality and empowerment.

Success Stories

At WATER, we train underprivileged women so that they become more self-reliant.  Here is a story of a lady from Dineshpur who was trained at our Gadarpur training centre. After getting trained with us, she has now gotten a job and also trains another 35 students on sewing.

It is our endeavour to bring smiles to the withered faces. It is indeed a happy feeling even for our trainers when they realise that their efforts have changed someone’s lives and made them financially independent. After all, to empower a woman is to empower a family.
